Hinodewashi Gold GŌKAKU Pencil Set with Eraser

This special set of hexagonal gold HB/#2 pencils and eraser is often used in Japan for good luck on a test.  The top says "gokaku enpitsu", which can be translated into "you have passed the test". The hexagonal shape of both the pencils and eraser is called  kikko (tortoiseshell) in Japanese because of its resemblance to the shell of a tortoise, which signifies longevity and is used to send wishes for long life and congratulations.
